Meanwhile, I have another message on this series to recommend: Encouraging Bible Verses For Women. You should give it a read!

Men In The Bible

As a man among The Believers Today, you should know that whatever challenges or struggles you are going through, there were men in the Bible who went through challenges.

Some men in the Bible who were outstanding about the faith include Adam, Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, John The Baptist, Christ, Peter, and Paul, to mention a few.

A study of those men would show that they all experienced difficult times. They stand out in the scriptures because they had victories over those circumstances and situations of life.

However, their anchor point has made them figures for men today to learn a thing or two from them. They had faith, trusted in the Lord, and made utterances and wrote to admonish and encourage other men in the Bible. With that, let me share some encouraging Bible verses for men.

Encouraging Bible Verses For Men

Matthew 4:3–4 WEB

“The tempter came and said to him, ‘if you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’ But he answered, It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”

Deuteronomy 31:23 WEB

“He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, ‘Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them. I will be with you.’”

Ecclesiastes 11:1 WEB

“Cast your bread on the waters; for you shall find it after many days.”

Ecclesiastes 11:4–6 WEB

“He who observes the wind won’t sow; and he who regards the clouds won’t reap. As you don’t know what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child; even so you don’t know the work of God who does all. In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening don’t withhold your hand; for you don’t know which will prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both will be equally good.”

Ecclesiastes 11:8–10 WEB

“Yes, if a man lives many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that comes is vanity. Rejoice, young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.”

Psalms 1:1–3 WEB

“Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.”

Psalms 119:9–11 WEB

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. With my whole heart, I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your commandments. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB

“No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

Jeremiah 29:11 WEB

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.”

James 1:19–21 WEB

“So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God. Therefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”

Lessons From These Encouraging Bible Verses For Men

Each of the above Bible verses for men is unique in its context, and we will see some encouraging lessons from each paragraph.

However, I want to note that while I am directing these Bible verses to men, the term man can be equal to male and female. That said, let me share some encouraging lessons with you:

  1. In the first paragraph, Jesus, having been tempted to turn stone into bread, pointed out a need for the word of God. Sometimes, you can find yourself in a rough situation where you are in wants and tempted to do what you should not to survive. You should refer to what God has to say about it. I remember an inscription I saw years ago. It says, What Would Jesus Do? (WWJD).
  2. In the second paragraph, the Lord commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous and assured him of His presence. As a man who believes in Christ Jesus, you should remember that God is with you even on your darkest night. That acknowledgment alone is a form of encouragement.
  3. The third and fourth paragraphs speak to seed sowing or planting and harvesting. They deal with the aspect of fear, which could limit one’s progress and prosperity. The preacher encouraged us to do what we should do when we have to do it. And trust God to bless the works of your hands.
  4. In the fifth paragraph, the preacher spoke about how you live. While noting that you can live however you like, he also said that you will account for how you lived before the Creator. Therefore, instead of committing evil, do good and treat people with love from the heart. Do not let vanity lead you to your destruction.
  5. In the following set of encouraging Bible verses for men, the scriptures speak of the blessedness of the man who delights in the law of God; He will prosper in his ways. You should be that man!
  6. In the next paragraph, where we have Psalms 119:9–11, the Psalmist emphasized living according to the instructions of the Lord as the criteria for a young man to live pure. Sin has been a problem with consequences. You can always face them here as you indulge in sinful activities. So, let God’s commands keep you in the way.
  7. 1 Corinthians 10:13 points to the fact that every temptation you face is common to everyone. And within you is the ability to overcome the challenge or test before you.
  8. Jeremiah 29:11 is a prompt to remember that God’s plans for you are good and not evil. Therefore, as long as God is involved, you will end well.
  9. In James 1:19–21, the principle for living included being attentive, constructive, and calm. Being reactionary or angry (as in retaliation or response to another) does not lead to the Righteousness Of God. But submitting to God’s everlasting word will lead to your salvation.

In the Bible, some men did a lot of evil. Even today, a lot of evil has proceeded from the wickedness in the hearts of men. You can make a positive difference by submitting to God in Christ Jesus.

I hope everyone who reads this message finds encouragement and the charge to stand up and step forward for what is the truth and godly in this world.
