What is God’s strength, if not the overflow of His love for mankind?
When I speak of mankind, I don’t just mean a faceless crowd and I mean you, me, everyone on this earth. God created us from a place of deep, overwhelming love. He is so full of love that He cannot help but express it in everything He does, boasting of it through the beauty of creation, through His patience with us, and through the strength He supplies daily.
His strength isn’t a separate trait;it flows from His love. It’s not just power to move mountains or part seas; it’s the quiet strength that lifts the weary, restores the broken, and upholds the weak. It’s the kind of strength that doesn’t just fix our problems but fills our hearts. When we draw near to God, we’re not just receiving help,we’re being embraced by love that lifts.
Digging Deep Through God’s Lens
Let’s look at this through God’s eyes. Let’s dig deeper—not through human understanding, but through the lens of the One who formed us.
It is His love that helps us see the good in everything He does. Without love, we wouldn’t recognize His hand at work. But because He is love (1 John 4:8), His actions—whether they bring comfort, correction, or even delay—are always rooted in what is best for us. His love is pure. It doesn’t exclude or chase anyone away. It is patient, kind, and unfailing (1 Corinthians 13:4–8).
God knows how tired you are. He sees how heavy your burdens feel and how the weight of life can wear you down. He knows, because He has walked that road through Jesus. “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin” (Hebrews 4:15). He is fully aware that you are human—even though you’re made in His image (Genesis 1:27), He understands your struggles, emotions, and limits.
And because He sees Himself in you, He responds with compassion. That’s what His love does. That’s what fuels the strength He gives.
He knows that sometimes, you don’t run to Him. You feel overwhelmed, disappointed, or numb. But even when your faith is fading, His love holds you steady. “If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself” (2 Timothy 2:13). His love doesn’t punish your weakness—it supplies strength in it. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Even when you feel far, He draws near. His love offers another day, another breath, another chance—not just to survive, but to see His goodness unfold through every chapter of your life. “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22–23).
This is not just love that comforts. It’s love that lifts. It’s love that empowers. It’s love that strengthens the soul quietly, gently, but consistently.
So when you are weak, remember this: You are never too far, too broken, or too drained for God’s love to reach you. His strength is not distant power, it is present help.
Psalm 46:1 (NIV):
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
And His love is never too far from those who call upon Him in times of distress. He draws near to the brokenhearted, and when we cry out even in weakness he listens. His presence doesn’t require perfection. It only takes a heart that turns toward Him, even in pain.
When Strength Feels Far: But God Is Near
There are moments we all face where it feels like God has gone quiet where we whisper to ourselves, “Has God abandoned me?”
The pain, the delays, the unanswered prayers it can feel like we’ve been left to suffer alone. But before you give up hope, take a closer look at the stories written in Scripture, and maybe even your own life.
Remember the Israelites? They had just left Egypt, freed from generations of slavery, yet they found themselves wandering in a wilderness they didn’t understand. They didn’t know the next step or the final destination. They doubted, they feared, and they complained but they kept moving. And even when they were unsure, God’s love showed up as strength. A pillar of cloud by day, and fire by night (Exodus 13:21).
He didn’t remove the wilderness but He never left them alone in it. Think about the times in your own life when you were at your lowest.
Maybe you were sick, tired, and broke wondering where help would come from. Then, out of nowhere, came provision: a meal, a call, a friend, a miracle. That wasn’t luck. That was God’s strength showing up in love, quietly but surely, reminding you: “You’re not forgotten.”
I remember seasons in my life when I cried to God from a place of weakness, physically sick, emotionally tired, and unsure of what tomorrow would bring. I would say, “God, please help me. If You don’t help me, no one can.” And even through tears, I’d hold on, remembering how many times Jesus Himself suffered and never gave up. And time after time, the Lord showed up for me not always how I expected, but always as a Father. A faithful, loving Father. He didn’t let me fall nor let me stay in the dark. He strengthened me through His love.
Learning to Trust Again
Sometimes, trusting God again feels hard especially when life hasn’t gone the way you hoped. But pause for a moment and look back . Hasn’t He helped you before? Hasn’t He made a way, even when you didn’t see it at first? He’s the same God today.
The enemy wants you to believe that you’ve been left behind, but God’s love says otherwise. “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you” (Isaiah 46:4).
Don’t let present pain make you forget past miracles. Don’t let the storm silence your memory of His faithfulness. Sometimes, the strength you need is found in simply remembering. Remember the provision, comfort, how He carried you, and then choose to trust again. Because, the same God who walked with you then is walking with you now. And His love, as always, is lifting you still.
Let His Love Supply Your Strength
If there’s one thing I’d tell you today, it’s this:
- Always allow God’s love to supply your strength.
- Don’t try to muster it all up on your own.
- Don’t force yourself to be strong when your soul is weary.
- Let His love hold you. Let it carry you.
Conclusion
His love is bountiful so full, so rich, so endless. It was never meant to run dry. It was never meant to fail you. And it never will. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23, ESV).
He is not a shallow stream you dip into once in a while. He is an ocean that never runs dry. Every day, there is more. More strength. More peace. More grace. More love. He is a constant source and He delights in pouring into you.
So, come back again and again. When you’re tired. When you’re joyful. When you’re uncertain. When you’re in need. Come to the ocean that never runs out, let the love of God fuel your strength daily, deeply, and forever.
