My Help Comes From The Lord

my help comes from the Lord

Psalms 121 is a commonly quoted chapter of scripture where I discovered that my help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Have you gotten to a point in life where it seems all hell broke loose? If you take a look at the past, you’d likely notice a point or two where you felt like, “Can I handle it?” or maybe, “I don’t think I can.”

King David was somewhere, and somehow he realized how much help he needed. That Psalm said it all.

Hold on, in case you are going through any trial or persecution, you may like to read: Be Of Good Cheer. Let me know what you think.

Where Does My Help Come From?

Though he was a great man with resources and affluence, King David realized himself in the midst of barbarous people. When he opted for peace and made it known, they would rather war.

Then David said, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from?” –Psalms 121:1 (WEB).

The question sounds rhetorical, and beyond that, it relates. Here is why I think so:

David admitted his situation in the previous chapter, then decided from where we read to lift his eyes up to the hills in search for help.

Many times, we find ourselves in distressing and very unfortunate conditions, keeping our eyes on those things. However, a problem doesn’t solve itself; help comes from above.

If you’re told all you really need to do is admit how bad the situation is, take your eyes off the situation, and look elsewhere for help, where would you expect help to come from?

My Help Comes From The Lord

It seemed David really knew where his help came from when he said, “My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” –Psalms 121:2 (NKJV).

Each day of my life, I realize how difficult the present day is, but each time I look back, I understand I wouldn’t make it this far all by myself. There is credit that belongs to the Lord, and for me, it’s all of it.

I have been rejected, disappointed, discouraged, depressed, and felt unsafe, but each time I overcome, I realize my help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

In my distress, I cried unto the Lord, and He heard me.

Be Encouraged; Your Help Comes From The Lord.

For The Believers Today, you will hear, see, and experience different things that are unpleasant to this body, but be encouraged, your help comes from the Lord. And as the scripture says,

He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber.

Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand.

The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.

Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. –Psalms 121:3–8 (WEB).

In conclusion, we have assurance with God, the Maker of Heaven and Earth. He will preserve our souls. Therefore, look away from the problem and look to the Lord, who provides a solution.
