Children Being A Blessing
The term Children is a plural form of Child, and it refers to newborn babies and youngsters.
When you hear children, you should think about Human Beings between infancy and youthful ages. But the unique thing about them is what they bring to the family.
Blessing commonly refers to the favor and protection of God upon someone. A blessing means something good that is given or bestowed upon someone to bring joy and happiness to that person.
Therefore, Children being a blessing would mean they are God’s gift to bring joy and happiness to their families. However, the procedure for bringing forth children would involve a man and woman working together in unity.

Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.’ He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
Lessons From These Bible Verses About Children Being A Blessing
Each set of Bible verses about children listed above has lessons that correlate within its context. We will look at them separately and cooperatively in paragraphs as follows:
Children Bring Joy
The first paragraph presented by the Psalmist supposed that barrenness leads to sadness. But God brings joy to the home of a barren woman by making her a mother of children.
In the second paragraph, Jesus, while discussing the need for patience in tribulations and the joy that would follow, pointed out the blessing that comes with childbearing. While there exists a problem before conceiving, during pregnancy, the moment a child is delivered, the people rejoice. It goes down to the fact that Children bring joy to the family.
Children Bring Confidence
In the third Bible verse, the Psalmist speaks to the value of children to their parents in the context of war and protection. He first said that children are gifts from God, then compared them to arrows of war in the family.
He supposed that parents with many children would not be afraid of their enemies because their children, having grown, would fight for them. It reminds me of a movie I watched some time ago. A woman who intervened in an issue involving her friend got threatened. Having seen that a man tried to assault his mother, her youngest son phoned his brothers, and they came and dealt with the man.
As much as we do not support such activities, you can see that even though parents protect their children, they grow up to reciprocate. That builds confidence in the parents.
Children Bring Pride
The following Bible verse about children further presents the parents as proud of having grandchildren as children are proud of their parents.
It is common knowledge that a family of children often shows pride in addition to the confidence they have. While most times, it shows pride in a negative light, it also reflects that they are proud of their children, and the elderly ones take pride in having grandchildren.
Children Should Be Given Godly Training
The fifth paragraph of Bible verses about children presents a Commandment for children to obey their parents in the Lord. According to the writer, the command is the first with the promise of being well and living long on the Earth.
In Obedience, the children honor their parents, but how would they obey without being taught? The scriptures further instructed parents not to make their children angry but to train them in the correction and instruction of the Lord (according to the scriptures).
The following paragraph emphasizes the same as the wise man instructs parents to train their children in the way they should go, and as they grow, they would get used to it and not depart from the way. There are things some adults would never do because they were taught from childhood not to do such things. Does it not apply to you?
When parents fail to train their children with discipline, they end up following their own ways, and the undisciplined would shame their families. But when children receive training in the way of the Lord, they will bring peace to their families. Which do you prefer?
In his letters, John acknowledged that he was joyful to know that those he called his children were walking in the truth. So I am sure every parent, including those among The Believers Today, would be glad to see their children following the right path.
Dear Youngsters, Continue In The Lord
In 2 Timothy 3:14, Paul admonished Timothy to continue in the teachings, knowing fully well the person who taught him. He pointed out that from his childhood, he was conversant with the scriptures, which has the ability to make him skillful with salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
If you are a youngster or a young adult, I want to say to you: remember what you were taught in the Lord, living righteously with one another, doing good to others, and knowing that salvation from sin and death is through faith in the finished works of Christ Jesus.
This Is So Inspiring
The 10th set of Bible verses about children being a blessing on our list presents a scene where people brought children to Jesus for Him to bless them.
At first, His disciples refused to let them, but when Jesus saw them, He told His disciples to allow the little children to come to Him. He pointed out that the Kingdom of God belonged to those like those children. He further said that those who do not receive the Kingdom like a little child will not enter into it.
How inspiring that children were used in Jesus’ teaching about the Kingdom of God in a figure to communicate how one should be to enter the Kingdom. It reminds me of the conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus in the Bible, where Jesus told Him not to be surprised that He said to him, “You must be born again.”
However, you can see that when the children came to Jesus in Mark 10:13–16, He welcomed them, took them into His arms, and blessed them, laying hands on them. Aside from humility, it showed trust and dependence on the end of the children. And I believe that speaks to our faith in Christ alone.
If you stayed with me to this point, I want to thank you especially, and I hope you found admonishment and encouragement in the verses we discussed above. Shalom aleichem!
